The future of sustainable mobility will have to take place through a necessary plurality of choices, both technical and political, which go beyond the mere transition to electric mobility, on which the public debate too often focuses. The electrification of individual transport, in fact, while presenting clear environmental benefits, continues, especially in the short-medium term, to present a whole series of problems: it is sufficient to think about the disposal of batteries, the difficulties with respect to the recharging infrastructure (distribution of columns , slow charging), the high cost of cars and the rarity of some raw materials. For this reason, we have concentrated our analysis on four issues that, in different ways, must be considered when it comes to sustainable mobility, as alternative and complementary to electric mobility: local public transport, renewal of the car fleet, sustainable fuels and bicycles.
